Angela Paydos, CPA, Manager

Angela graduated cum laude from Bryant University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in Accounting and from the University of Connecticut with a Masters of Accounting with a concentration in Assurance Services. Angela started her career as a co-op student in 1999 working on both audits and taxes until 2005 where she worked as an internal auditor at The Hartford Financial Services Group on the corporate internal audit team. She later returned to GDS in 2008 and is working on various audit engagements. Angela is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). (12 years as a CPA)


Gregory MacLeod, CPA, Manager

Greg graduated from Southern Connecticut State University and has been working in public accounting for over 13 years for firms of varying sizes, including Whittlesey and Hadley, P.C., UHY LLP, and Weinstein and Anastasio. He brought the nonprofit experience and expertise he gained during that time to GDS in 2011. Greg has served as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors of a private foundation, the Greater Hartford Jaycees Foundation, in Hartford, CT for several years. He is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). (7 years as a CPA)


Robert Fabricant, CPA, Supervisor

Bob graduated from Central Connecticut State University and began his public accounting career with a tax oriented CPA firm in Southern Connecticut, and subsequently moved on to the large regional firm of Kostin, Ruffleess & Co. He then became the controller of a large auto parts company but decided to return to public accounting in 1996 when he joined GDS. Bob’s experience and expertise includes small business and individual tax preparation and performing audits of State and Federally funded nonprofits, commercial audits and audits of employee benefit plans. Additionally, Bob has been designated as the firm specialist in the employee benefit plan area. Bob is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). (33 years as a CPA)


Katie Rouillard, CPA, Supervisor

Katie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2002 and her Masters of Business Administration from Central Connecticut State University in 2005. She began her career at a small CPA firm in Glastonbury that concentrated on nonprofit and municipal clients. Katie then moved on to the large regional CPA firm of Blum Shapiro. She left Blum Shapiro to work as the Finance Director at a small nonprofit school and decided to return to public accounting in 2009 when she joined GDS. Katie’s experience includes performing audits of nonprofit organizations including those that are State and Federally funded, audits of municipalities and also nonprofit tax return preparation. Katie is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). (10 years as a CPA)


Brenda Cowett, CPA, Supervisor

Brenda joined GDS in November 2013 with public accounting experience since 1979 and Public Housing experience since 2005. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Quinnipiac University in 1981, has been a CPA since 1984, obtained teacher certification in 2001 and PHM (Public Housing Manager) Certification in 2010. Brenda was an employee, then partner at Whitten, Horton + Gibney CPAs from 1979-1989, and was the sole proprietor of her own CPA practice in Durham from 1990-1999. She sold her practice in 1999 to Carter, Hayes + Associates and then consulted part time. She was the Executive Director at Middlefield Housing Authority from 2005 until the time she joined GDS. Brenda is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). (32 years as a CPA)


Edward C. Currie, Jr., CPA, Tax Supervisor

After attending Southern Connecticut State College and the Graduate School of Business at the University of New Haven, Ed started his career in accountancy and taxation in the Stamford, CT office of Touche Ross and Co. (one of what was then the "Big Eight" firms of public accounting). In the 35 years since then he has held a number of positions in both public accounting and industry, including the cable television/cellular communications industry and, most recently, the heavy construction/mining industry. Ed has significant experience in the taxation of estates and trusts, partnerships, corporations and individuals. Ed is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA). (36 years as a CPA)


Pamela Grassi, Senior Accountant & IT Supervisor

Pamela received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from St. Leo University. She also earned a Masters of Business Administration from Benedictine University. Pamela is originally from Chicago where she began her work in the brokerage industry eventually working in manufacturing. In Chicago, she then changed to public accounting where she worked with businesses in construction, landscaping, manufacturing, legal and service industries. Pamela brought with her 15 years of experience in accounting, tax services and business consulting. She also has extensive knowledge of accounting software and is a Certified QuickBooks Instructor. At GDS, she works with small businesses performing consulting and tax services along with a strong focus on nonprofit tax.


Jessica McElroy, Senior Accountant

Jessica graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance in May 2009. She started her career in the accounting field in July 2007 with Riella & Lepak, in Colchester, working with a variety of individual and business clients. She left the firm in December 2011 to gain auditing and additional tax experience at GDS. Jessica is a Certified QuickBooks Online user and is currently working towards the advanced certification. Jessica is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).


Debra Scotti, Senior Accountant

Debra received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Stony Brook University in 2000 and received her Certificate of Accounting from Quinnipiac University in 2002. Debra has 9 years of public accounting experience working for firms of varying sizes including Weinstein & Anastasio, PC, Bowman, Monaco & Black, PC and Konowitz & Kahn, PC (Marcum). Debra’s experience includes audits of various organizations and business and individual tax return preparation. Debra is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).


Dylan Stumpf, Senior Accountant

Dylan graduated from Merrimack College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in May 2010 and joined GDS in June 2011. Since then, Dylan has gained experience with auditing of nonprofit organizations, preparation of individual and business tax returns and bookkeeping for clients. Dylan is also a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) and is currently studying for the CPA exam.


Daniel Slepski, CPA, Staff Accountant

Dan graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and from the University of Hartford in 2014 with a Master of Science in Accounting and Taxation. Dan started his career at J. Oaks, CPA, MBA, LLC auditing nonprofit and religious organizations and preparing required tax filings for individuals and various types of entities. Dan obtained the CPA designation in August 2016 and is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).


Randy LaFontaine, Staff Accountant

Randy graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Science in Accounting program at Central Connecticut State University and will be complete in December 2018. Upon completion of this program Randy intends to begin studying for the CPA exam. Randy joined GDS in July 2017.


Maria Stublarec, Bookkeeper

Maria graduated from Bay Path College with a degree in Computer Science. She worked for 10 years in the insurance industry as a Licensed Property & Casualty Agent. In 1995 she started working independently as a bookkeeper for small businesses. She joined GDS in 2012 where she continues to provide accounting and bookkeeping services to several GDS clients.
